The King of Kong Documentary is about two rivaling video gamers that will stop at nothing to be the King of Kong, that’s the king
of Donkey Kong, yeah you know that classic arcade game that we all played some 20+ years ago. Well this documentary takes
game playing to the next level of obsession; do we really want to be known as king of krap? That is how I sum up the preview
that I saw in Austin Texas recently. This so called underdog Steve Weibe soaked up all the glory with a standing ovation,
a freaking standing ovation for god sakes, and for what you may ask. For making a high score on a classic video game, but
the question is that high score that he made, was it a real genuine high score? I think not if you read on the Twin Galaxies
site, yes that the site that tracks all and every gaming high scores that you can think of. There are some
postings in their forums that elude to the fact that Mr. Steve Underdog Weibe isn’t all cracked up to be what
he claims. Walter Day posts on the front page of Twin Galaxies about Mr. Weibes new world record but by my intuition
and diggin up of facts Mr. Day is delusional and is loosing control over a once great high score tracking business.
Mr. Day has caved in to the politics of the media and does not want to look bad in their eyes for shooting down this liar
Steve Weibe for what he is. The movie producers went way out on a limb to convey this story to the audience, with
having Steve with this supposed underdog image, only because Steve’s childhood friend Michael Thompson a fat toad
looking guy, that was working on the Launch Pad team. In fact Mr. Underdog tried to pull a fast one past the Twin
Galaxies personnel with a score on a PCB that had more then one game on its select menu and was also bought by the
notorious Bill Mitchell hater Roy Schildt that PCB had a residual substance on it that no one could comment on, when I
contacted both the Launch Pad team or Picture House, sounds suspicious to me. While on the other hand
the defending champion world record holder Bill Mitchell is portrayed as this arrogant pampas ass that will do anything
to ruin Steve’s chances at toppling his world record. Believe me I have met Mr. Mitchell in person and he is defiantly
not the same asshole that the producers from Launch Pad want you to believe. The way I see this documentary is the producers
say "let’s slip one past the general public because we are desperate to take your money with a sob story because they
cannot write a compelling story about anything else". I can imagine to all of you reading my review on The King of Kong that
you probably think that I am bias but the true fact is that I really don't want the general public to waste their money
on lies that are suppose to be the truth about some dick head wanting to pull a fast one past us into thinking he is an underdog
when in fact he is a lair and a cheater like Roy "Lets get a blow job from a guy" Schildt. Maybe Roy is getting blow jobs
from Steve on the side, and thats why he is in the movie standing behind his man or should I say in front.
